FIVI – Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers
Our Incontri diVini would like to return with all the energy and passion that has distinguished us, but the moment we are living forces us to give up conviviality and sociality of wine in the way we have always thought and organized.
However, we have not given up on training, tasting and discovering new experiences.
For us the wine market of independent winegrowes F.I.V.I. was a first time, a truly fantastic experience, a journey into Italy of excellence that, no matter how small the wineries may be, represent a strongly territorial and very local viticulture. Go on with a lot of work.
The winegrower cultivates his own vines, bottles the wine, personally catering to his product. He sells all or part of the harvest bottled, under his own responsibility, name and label. Today, the Federation counts 1300 members, from all Italy.
At the FIVI market, we tasted wines never tasted before, we discovered some and rediscovered others. White, red, bubbles, rosè, northern, southern, central Italy.
From the sea to the mountains.
Historical grape varieties, PIWI, international.
One of the good things is that the market works just like that: it is possible to shop directly from the winegrowers.. an excellent opportunity to supply the winery with wines that are not normally found on the shelves (better so) and companies that (very sad) sometimes do not have the skills to be known.
The wines and companies we met and tasted are just a few. We chose them a little ‘to follow a logical thread, indeed, a wine-logical (enologico) journey in Italy of wine, a little ‘because we knew them and wanted to taste the new vintages, a little’ out of curiosity and a little’ by chance (a pinch of fate always takes).
We name them not because they asked us to, but because we like to share our experiences.
